    Rough idle /Stalling

Name is Danilo from Portugal, sorry for the English

Hi guys, need some feedback on some issues with my 94' ABY S2 Avant.

Just started to put on some miles on the odo...

The gremlins are starting to appear and just want to have some opinions on some questions...

I've spotted some smoke from the left side of the engine bay, just under the pipe with the "spring shape protection all round"?
-Maybe it have some sort of hole or the gaskets...

But the thing that the most, is when I'm slowing down to get ready to stop, the S2 starts to shake, and the idle gets all up and down, but most of the times it stalls, when I turn it up again, she gets a perfect idle, but as soon as I even think to stop again, it starts all over again... And I think that she doesn't have the woooomp that I was expecting ...
-Will get it Vag-com tested tomorrow, but want to know about your ideas...
-Idle sensor, lambda/oxygen probe, intake temperature sensor??

    Thanks you guys

I would remove you ISV (idle stabliliser valve) and soak it over night then dry and refit

or its a boost leak, prob a boost leak whihc might explain where the puffs of smoke are coming from depending on the size of leak. Have you fitted a boost gauge?

I'd say air leak - tell me what LOAD parameter you see at warm idle on VAGCOM

Yesterday I took the car to a Bosch car service, and they couldn't "hack" into to the
S2 but the guy told me that the ISV could be one of the reasons for the poor idle.

No boost gauge yet, lets hope that its the exhaust header, so I can start to mess with the good stuff GT2871 vs RS2 turbo

Any chance that the air leak would be related to some kind of vacuum hoses?
But as soon as I get the numbers, I'll Pm you and post them here.

          Thanks

            They detected the problem...

It was a faulty vacuum hose, and a dirty "accelerator buterfly"...

Now we can start the transformation process

            Thanks again for the pointers!
