Still building my car, slow when you have customers to deal with. Should be ready for next years show season. The basics are RS4 engine. I've had it so long, I've had time to increase the capacity to 3.0, using low compression versions of VAG's 3.0 egine pistons, six speed box and 8.5" x 20" S8 alloys. It's taken me 4 years to find an RS4 interior loom, but got one at last. Bodywork is all steel, being built around the wheels, Sport quattro - style. Front bumper is Subaru Imprezza WRX item, rear is still under construction, may end up using widened RS2 item. Heads are ported and polished, standard valve sizes (just reprofiled) Interior is all RS4, complete with instrument pod, supplemented by Stack display (from my old Orange RS2 - engined coupe quattro). The hardest part so far is the construction of an exhaust system, as I want the dual pipes to exit where the license plate normally resides. Running Porsche 959 injectors in place of the originals, I have rigged up a secondary fuel rail, which now houses the originals, making 12 in total. Turbos are Garrets, replacing the original K04's. With final re-map, I am hoping for at least 600PS, achievable seeing as my old Coupe quattro with 2.5 5 cylinder managed 426PS @ 1.6 bar boost.
RS4 - engined 1990 Coupe quattro.

Yeah, I'll do that. Any one need spare AEL blocks, let me know. Beleive it or not, a customer of mine has decided to go for an S2 conversion in a FWD Coupe GT! Handling will certainly be on the limit, especially if he decides to go for our 2.5L conversion later.Attached FilesComment

What kind of setup can I expect from a 2.5 liter engine, in terms of conrods, pistons, overbore, cylinderhead mods, etc.
I'd like to know, because i'm about do revise my engine. So maybe a 2,5 liter!!!
ThanksComment

My orange Coupe quattro used one of our early 2.5L setups, which consisted of a new block, crank and rods. The bores remained @ 81mm, as we did not want to compromise reliability in terms of head gasket sealing. Pistons were stock, though now we use forged Mahle items. This coupled with a K26/27 turbo, RS2 injectors, chargecooler, re - mapped ECU, 3 bar MAP sensor and lightly ported head saw 426PS and 414.7 lbs/ft. The stock rods have shown no weakness at this point, bearing in mind I am quite brutal when it comes to launching the car off the line, and it did get driven the way it was meant to be driven - HARD!Comment

Siena, how exactly did you change the cubic capacity of the engine ? re-bore or different crankshaftS2 Avant......fully loaded   Slipper Wagons Rule !!!!!Comment

Kept the same bore, had to change the block, crank and rods. Lot of machining involved, which in turn led to balancing. The pistons I used in my car were stock, though we now use forged Mahle items. I guess you could say mine was the prototype.Comment
