    ABY running lumpy-help!

Earlier i lightly hosed down the engine bay as the car was running, it then started to run a bit more rougher... So i assumed it'll do that until the water dries up, but i left the car running for over an hour with no change... The brown plug next to the throttle cable seemed dry as were the blue and 2 white plugs to the rear of the engine bay...

Next i took off the coil pack cover [20v turbo?] and it seemed 2 of the stalks were slightly damp.. Dried them up and put them back in...

Started her up but it's still not smooth..
I'll crack her over in the morning to see if anythings changed, but any ideas for now?
    Cheers
    Harry

All you can do is unplug and dry as many connectors as you can!
I read about it a few times on here, just keep your fingers crossed it clears in a day or two

If still funny in the morning- get the wife's hairdryer out to purge any remaining moisture...

Critical area is probably round the POS units and plugs attached to them - do them one at a time so as not to mix things up and just use moderate heat.

everything was dry except where the spark plug sits.. I could see some water surrounding one plug, so i got the airline out and blew away what seemed like everything..

Started her up, she sounded more healthier, but as you prod on the accelerator quickly, you can feel the engine sounding a bit heavy, bit more of a burble... smooth revving is fine.. I can only assume there maybe more water?

I have had this and it will dry out eventually. Takes a few days though.

All the advice above is good. Check and dry all the connectors on the ingnition system, particularly at the bulkhead and ensure your coilpacks and sparkplugs are dry. (Are all your Spark plug rubber boots in good condition? I have some new ones for sale if you need them).

              Cheers,

              Steve.

Would you be on about the black rubber stalks that sit over the spark plugs?

She's idling alot better than before, just a slight bit off... I took her for a quick drive, and she's quite hesitant when building the revs.... Not very smooth when revving up when driving it seems...Similar to a slight boost leak i guess, but i dont think it is, as it's happened after hosing the engine bay and no pipes have been taken off or put under pressure...

Will applying WD40 down where the spark plugs are help it dry out even more so? Or would that be a nono!

                Cheers

WD40 will be fine in there, it can drive out moisture too.

Yes the rubber stalks are available if you need some new ones. (They tend to go hard and crack or split with age...)

                  Cheers,

                  Steve.
