    stalling and poor idle issues

well the bus has been pretty good lately until yesterday.

seem to have developedn an issue that affects idle and very light load.

whe i start the car from cold or hot it starts fine and idles. if i then drive for a few minutes from cold especially its fine then starts to play up.

i will pull up at a junction and it will stall straight away or idle then stall after a minute or so.

whe i start it af is 1.05 at idle. i can drive a bit at around 1.0-1.05 then all of a sudden i see it go to 0.75-0.85 and bog down. either a misfire or dumping it in.

as the car warms up it gets worse. really bogging down and stalling even when lifting off going down a hill for instance. traffic driving is awful.

i have 2 wb02 probes in the exhaust and have tried both. same results. it points me towards electricals. also i think i can hear a relay maybe buzzing for 1 sec every now and again, very rarely but never heard it before yesterday.

ignoring the fact i use vems and i will plug in later to see if i can see anything

would a faulty water temp sensor do this? which one is it. how can it be tested.
    how about the AIC sensor?

    anything other sensor wise. TPS?

also if i go over 1/4 throttle it seems fine.

any help on the factory sensors would be appreciated?

    thanks

had this problem on and off for a while, runs like a dream if left for a few days and on open road, but if i use her for a few days in a row or sit in traffic the idle hunts and it stalls then on takeoff overboost cuts in!! Im keeping an eye on this thread.

not had this on the audi before must say. ive had nothing but not these symptoms. seems very much to do with temp sensors and partial throttle.

      gonna start with

      clean plugs.
      fuel filter
      tps test and reset
check wiring extensions for wagner inlet

ill see how this fairs tonight.

          map only yes.

obviously i have lots of feedback info too. seems strange how it drops from 1.05 to 0.75 or so instantly. in the past i have seen lambda issues and its a gradual thing as tyhe ecu tries to compensate. hoping vems will tell me after that temp is going off on one.

will see later. hoping for a quick fix as driving around at over 1/4 throttle is asking for trouble in the rozzer department as is rally car like actions at the traffic lights

well it turned out to be a simple fix, may be not fix but so far solution.

i disconnected the battery then took the plugs out and cleaned them as they had gone beyond the stage of self clense. put it all back and the factory alarm played up for a few seconds flashing the indicators very quickly. not seen that before. central locking failed to work at this stage. so i said **** it sat down for a minute and it stopped and all was fine.

            car is running fine again.
