Any one have any experiance with this set up? Looks good and so does the price.
I'm looking towards 450 -500 bhp from my engine do you think the 2.0L coils in the kit would handel that?
ive got them on my car, only running 300bhp at the moment, have just replaced the 5 coils after about 3 years of use, im using the latest revision of the 1.8t coils "R" am taking the car upto the 450 mark shortly and should be fine, a friend of mine with a urs4 running 430bhp also has them, they work well on his car, also the advantage with them is the cost of the coils, all 5, genuine VW/Audi are about £130 and 2 year warrenty! Id say go for it...

I used them for my S2 avant ...no problems at all..sure audiman had them on his S2 that was running very high power
yep, will fit, you have to remove your cover and coils and POS. The new coils simply push down onto the plugs, and the loom plugs in where the POS plug in, they do also sell a vented stainless steel cover that replaces the origional, the origional cover if it could be re-fitted i think would kill the coils very quicky as they get very hot
Thanks for the repplies guys.
Seems very good value for money and like you say avants2turbo, the price of replacement coils are cheep too.
I think i'll go down this route.
Is there a UK supplier for Apikol? Or will i have to deal direct with them?

The Apikol 2.0L coil pack kit was originally a 1.8t coil pack kit, first issued in April 2006, based on my DIY pdf created in Oct. 2005:
The system works on all AAN, ABY and ADU engines (but not 3B). The coil packs are still vulnerable to failure, typically due to heat, possibly due to long dwell times. They do NOT do well on the track (too much heat). They are cheap, relatively speaking. I have replace one 115L coil pack since 2005. Others have replaced all 5, sometimes more than once.
Apikol now offers the kit with the latest 2.0L coil packs in the hopes that they will last better. The 2.0L coil packs are slightly taller and therefore the Apikol coil pack cover cannot be used. That is good in my opinion. I never though that any coil pack cover should be used, especially not the OE "20v Turbo" cover.
Another alternative is to use GM LS2 type coils. This can also be DIY but has now been developed into a kit offered by EFI Express:
EFI Motorsport is a company dedicated to providing quality upgrade parts, hardware, software, tuning, and service for a range of European vehicles.
Marc, at EFI Express, has recently had some coil supply issues but you could buy the harness and source your own LS2 D585 coils. In theory, they should be better than the 1.8t or 2.0t coil packs since they are away from the heat.
Hope that helps.

I see 034 Motorsport claim a slight improvement in fuel economy. Can anyone confirm this as I'm interested in buying the loom, the coils I can already get nice and cheap

Apikol will sell you the loom (harness) separately as well IIRC. I think the "034" harness (loom) is made by Apikol now anyway.

The '034' coil packs work a treat, as I have them fitted to my car but be wary, the conversion is not really for RHD car and that's where the problem lies for a UrS4/S6. ((I do not have a problem with heat in the coils due to where I placed them and the coil packs run cold, unlike 'super hot' when they were fitted in the cam cover.) Selected pictures in the 'S6' gallery.)
There really is not enough space to mount them on the strut brace in a UrS4/S6 (Don't go near the exhaust area!) but I fitted mine in a bracket to the bulkhead where the original primary coils were fitted. The only issue then, is the coil plug leads, as the original '034' plug leads are too short but you can get those made up quite nicely or make them up yourself.
I cannot say I have seen an improvement with fuel consumption but to be honest, with one of these cars it will be the least of my worries. The biggest improvement in the fuel consumption arena came when I got rid of my awful exhaust and put a 3" single bore system on the car. Over about "900" miles doing similar journeys, MPG has gone up about "1 to 1.5" per gallon which I did not expect. (Driving sensibly!)
