    Need some quick help/advice

    Guys,

I need some advice, my car has lost all electrical power. Ignition switched on, and then when I tried to turn the engine, everything died. no lights, no central locking. I think most likely a fuse has blown(i hope). I need to get it moving asap. Any of you guys know what I should be looking at to get it back up?

    Thanks!

      Hi,

Battery is brand new, fitted 4 days ago. Its been working fine, just had a 40 minute drive before I parked up earlier this evening. Just went to move it..switched it on, ignition lights all lit up, then when I tried to switch the engine on it all died.

I was wondering if there is a main electrical fuse in the fuse box up front which could be causing the issue?

what does the battery meter show? If its not been charging it should show below 12 Volts & When the car was running it should have read about 14 Volts....

If not it could be that the alternator has not been re-charging the battery properly...

Which could be a belt slipping or the alternator is knacked.... or something else had this problem with my RS6...

Have you tried jumping or boosting it?

If the battery is good then I'd try the ignition switch then the voltage regulator on the alternator, I've had both cause complete power loss.
