cam position sensor (low of boost)

would a faulty cam position sensor cause low boost problems ? it keeps coming up as a fault but i never have problems starting the car . my shorty is only producing around 7 psi .
i've changed mfts , sensor at the back of the head ,checked wastegate diaphram is ok , pressure tested and found the dump valve (tial one) was not holding pressure above 7 psi so changed to a stronger spring ,changed wastegate frequancy valve , checked all boost and breather pipes are tight .
the car drove good for a couple of days last week but since then it is not boosting properly .would air temp sensor or knock sensors also cause these problems?

Knock sensors worth a check definately, and they often don't show up as fault codes either
