Question about the 3B/early AAN dizzy cam gear

Is the cam gear that drives the dizzy supposed to look like it is split, i.e. comprised of two pieces, with gap in the middle of the helical teeth?

I've added a photo in Post No. 3 below.

I haven't seen AAN gear, however know, that it is smaller teeth than 3b/7A. However 3b has no gap ant looks like in the picture below. It may have "skunk stripe" because wear, but not split.

Here is a photo of what I am talking about. I think it might have been an add-on piece that could have allowed a normal (later) AAN camshaft to replace an earlier AAN cam (or 3B cam). But I *definitely* could be wrong.

Looks it should be like this. Here is comparison photo AAN gear, and 3b. Not the best resolution, but you can see same groove. Not sure how to replace those gears, however I think a lot of heat is needed.

Thanks. I am told that the AAN dizzy cam gear is "press fit". Probably heating both parts up first.

Heat the gear, cool the cam with cooling spray.
