    GT30 \ Wagner Hits Chassis

Anyone else had issues with the turbo hotside hitting the chassis when installing wagner EM and GT30 series with apparent stock location fitment.

heard rumours a while back that if your engine mounts are old and tired, spacing of the engine mount on that side allows it to be lifted enough to give 5mm clearance.

I've fitted 034 street density mounts and still not enough. even tried putting the old tired mount that came from behind the main rad. back in to make the effect even more pronounced. Still no joy.

I also had to jack the back end of the gearbox up to get the front crossmember back on.

Sound familiar to anyone who's been through this, whats going on?

Hmm, sounds odd you shouldn't have to jack the gear box up to get the cross member on, what state are your gear box mounts in?

It's not the manifold fault, it happens on the RS2 manifold also with the GT series.

The Garrett hotsides are just freaking huge, I altered the chassis to clear the turbo hotside

not shot, but I've never replaced them. I've not noticed any slop or odd knocks. All seemed well till I started bolting bits on.

How did you mod the chassis? cut and weld job or (goes off to fetch big hammer) Subtle tweaking.

              Hammer time!

I asked the same question and got this response from other people with Garretts that had been installed

                wow!

Feel a bit uncomfortable taking a hammer to my beloved, but there's a strange part of me that will also take pleasure in beating it after all the knuckle rash and ranting like a crazed maniac it's put me through.

Just hope I don't get carried away.

Indeed, it's hammer time once you fit a Garrett in stock location.

                  Have fun!

using the tubular you dont get this issue.

on the mounts it was a ballache trying toget the stub back in on the track densities. they lift the engine as they are so much more solid

options are. ratchet strap on engine near front pull it down or fanny with the x member for an hour or so.
