    Help Urgent For Combe

Hi guy's I am at wits end with the 90 20V

As you are aware the dizzy gear lost all it's teeth the other night....
The new gear came this morning. I have fitted it but the car will still not run.

Here is the checklist tell me if I have missed anything please.

The Cam mark is in the correct place
The Timing mark on the front pulley is in the correct place
The timing mark is on the flywheel in the correct place
I marked the dizzy housing before removeal and it is in the same place.
The 2 timing marks on the dizzy line up.
The pin is still intact on the flywheel
I have tested both sensors on the flywheel both work.
I am getting a pulse on the injectors with a node tester
I am getting a spark on all cylinders.
I have done a compression test all is in tollerance
    Fuel is up to pressure
I am getting fuel on the plugs
There are no faults on vagcom
I have tested the ecu in another car all is ok.
I have towed it down the road behind another car trying to bump it.
I have tried a different air flow meter

IT STILL WILL NOT RUN!!!!!! Everything has been fine untill the dizzy gear broke!

WTF is going on?????? Fuel Spark Compression what am I missing I have spent all day on the bloody thing. Ben from AVP has been here for 3 hours and he is no wiser?

          just to double check

i've had that before with the cam gear and it took me a couple of attempts to get the timing right with my 20v 7a, as above play with the dizzy you will get there.

Ah yeah your using the different flywheel arn't you mate. Since it was the gear you thought about moving the top timing mark to line up on the next point and seeing what else matches up then doing the dizzy to that, thats what i'd do

                see you at combe

The flywheel 0 is not where the Dizzy needed to be.

                        Coupled with

                        1. The plug on the side of the Dizzy was damaged and I had tested it a number of times today but was moving on the pins and let me down later tonight.

So dizzy back out again. I have glued the plug back together and held it with a trusty Zip tie aswell.

However now when it is sat idling it is hunting as iff it is missing???? If you hold the revs at say 2000rpm and watch the afr it fluctuates back and forth between rich and lean you can also hear the engine tone change with each movement of the afr.

The dizzy gear sounds like it is chattering a little.

I think that I have too much endfloat in the dizzy now

So I give up tonight I will get the dizzy out in the morning again when the engine is cooler. See if I can shim the dizzy to hold the spindle and get a fresh dizzy cap.

I can't see it being anything else. What a pain in the harris!!!!!

You just end up questioning yourself all the time. The dizzy was the initial problem concentrate on sorting that and that only....
