Well, **** happens. I don't feel ripped off. A large chunk of the engine components are new. At least he was more honest about it than the previous owner of my last S2. I'm too trusting when buying cars I reckon! Anyway, let's not go there any more

All the vacuum pipes are new. As said above so much stuff has been replaced in order to trace the problems, that once I get to the bottom of this, there's very little else to go wrong!

New doesn't mean that there's not a leak though. Small cable ties are the best way of getting a seal, the OE metal clips and fuel clips generally aren't as good. If you know that it's all A1 from checking it thoroughly then you can discount it from your future investigations. I had a RR session a few years ago that went badly and it turned out that a hose clamp had rubbed and frayed the Samco and had created a leak, I was convinced all was well but a leak test proved otherwise, 2 weeks later I added 25bhp to the original graph on the same rollers

Cheers for the offer mate. I can't replicate the problem at tbd moment though so I'm not sure how we'd test it!

CLEAR the fault codes after repairing boost leaks - otherwise the ECU still 'sees' a permanent fault and does the orrible fuel cut at 4k rpm

Boost cuts are the most frustrating thing in the world, especailly when overtaking Good luck with it, I ended up rebuilding most of my car to get it spot on. MRC did a good job of checking it all over for me and got me well on the way to it running properly

Thanks again for all the help and advice fellas. Got a friend with vag com lined up to pull the codes. I'll attempt a boost leak test as well.

After that I think it has to go to Doug, as i'm starting to reach the limits of my mechanical skills!

Can't wait to find out what a healthy s2 feels like to drive!

Fast Amazing that solving a small airleak can make the car feel like a rocket ship

Codes can be reset from battery disconnect or ECU removal for 2+ hours.
