    7A flywheel questions

    Hi,

if the dual mass flywheel is replaced with the 7A flywheel, are the same crank sensors for trigger tooth count used? besides the mechanical aspects of the replacement, is there anything else that needs to be done for the ECU to read timing correctly?

    thanks

7A will work. For VEMS users such as yourself I would recommend zero-verifying your timing with a timing light after the swap to trim out any slight differences, since the reference pin on the 7A is just a pin while on the AAN its a block of steel, so the position could be off by a degree or two.

I swapped the ABY DM wheel without issues for my new lightened 7A wheel. VEMS did not complain, or at least I did not notice anything.

did you use a strobe light to check the timing?

If I were you Vas, I'd get take the pin out and weld a block on like the AAN, you won't have to worry about the pin getting broken then. I'm going to look at doing this before I fit mine.

can't you just weld the pin in, or is that what you mean?

                        Why is the sky blue?

They break, many many many reported cases of it after all it's a small pin in a high speed rotating mass called the flywheel
