They are on the firewall just behind the cylinder head, one will be green and one will be blue.

The sensors are the physically same, the colour difference is just to differentiate the cable lengths

Isn't the blue one (G66) too far forward? The Green one (G61) is for Cylinders 1 and 2, the blue one, 3, 4 and 5. Looks like the blue one is opposite no. 2. Shoudn't they be like this:

The picture is of diesel block not an ABY, ADU block. It's what you have to do to install them.

Okay. But the G66 (rear most) isn't going to be able to do its job (measuring pinging on cylinders 3, 4 and 5) sitting that far forward.

Thats's how it came from messer Pisobiker, I can't remember if the tapped boss behind it is actually used for the engine mount.

I'll see if I can move it on your advice

Any reason why you plug it into the sensor for #1 (and 2)?
On my KnockLite, I'm using the input from the sensor that listens to 3/4/5. The more cylinder coverage, the better, one would assume.

Why would you need another knocking mechanism next to VEMS? Isn't VEMS firmware version 1.1.5x and up doing knock control of some sort?

Or is it not working well enough?

NB I use the headphones myself to tune VEMS at this moment on 1.1.27 firmware.

sensor needs to be over a water jacket. thats the important part.

cutting into a shield is a no-no. the sensor wont work properly then. also keep the wire off water pipes and metal.
