    Thank you S2 Forum..

Just thought i would say thanks as without you all it would not be possible for me to have my car still.
Number one i couldnt afford to pay anyone to work on my car so thats all good coming on here for many a top tip.
Then there is all you fellow s2 owners selling all your bits.
Well i have now over the last two weekends finnished me car of.Well started and finnished it. So thanks all for all your advice on where to get bits and bobs etc from and the excellent threads on here showing how to install a GT3071r i think my car now goes like it looks...

Only problem was going to put loads of photos on here but i broke me fecking phone lying on the drive doing me car.
Please note i have changed the hole engine on the drive with a little trolley jack and some help form a friend. ( who worked for beer)

I have had my cylinder head valve guides done. How nice is it not to see blue smoke..
New seals new clutch. new bottom end brought from Ebay with all the parts already inside. pistons rods bolts etc.( although took it back apart to re do as well i trust nobody) I was glad to see what was ment to be was actually there. and arp head bolts. New tappets etc.
A SPECIAL THANKS MUST GO OUT TO QUATTRO CORNER ALSO THANKS PETE SO GLAD I LIVE SO CLOSE. An i must say his car sounds bloody lovely... dam V8s i want one.

So thats it really all good it goes like it should although i havent had it mapped yet so been carefull but couldnt resist booting it just the once... excellent i must say
and it dont feel right that the clutch is so light. I mean the other one was in it when i brought the car 5 years ago.I thought i would by a new clutch to fit to it because it felt heavy and only got round to it 5 years later... an it still worked amazing with all the abuse i have given it..
    So yeah thanks all.

No wonder I haven't had any jokes recently

My ECU wouldn't cut it for your setup. You need a remap as with a 3071 you really want to run up to 1.9 - 2.0 bar

            looking good.

nice when you can rely on the help of others to get us through.

the beauty of forums with good people.

get it remapped or take the next road to standalone. id expect there are a few 3071 vems setups.

depending on how much of a drug power is depends on its value.

i can understand staying with motronic for the 3071 for sure. im sure you will love it. just avoid boost till you have it mapped.

There are more failsafes in VEMS if you use it to control boost

Key for me was MAF removal. New MAF = £230

VEMS paid for itself in this respect.

MRC will be able to sort you out though

In the regions as a remap and 3 bar MAP sensor.

It does have knock reduction and high EGT boost reduction and then fuel enrichment. Will also reduce boost on high Inlet temps.

Will also cut above your set boost limit threshold.

It really comes down to how your going to take your car. If you want fit and forget just get it remapped.

VEMS allows you to tinker and evolve. I've bought it because I want to learn and the wideband control is good.

Mine should be up and running around Jan if you want to nose

vems will do everything you need and more.

its whether you want to get involved in thats side. i dont like it any other way but im not green to this area at all.

all well and good seeing a car but sometimes the work put in is the cloak and dagger.

since my recent self kick up the *** i now have better idle though still not on isv, better startup, better cruise in the below 2k area, no lift off jolt at all now. i have far better economy than motronic gave and double + the hp. others who are experienced in the game always comment on the smoothness something i thought i may loose with standalone a little.

ill stop. ive been bleating on about vems and boost controllers for the best part of 2.5 years. im just glad others have followed suit. not because it makes me feel better but because i know they are then getting more from what is not only a car but a hobby.

dont forget though that if you buy vems - around 700 quid with the bits you will need

a mapper or help mapping. that may be free if you ask the right people nicely. follow the basics and you wont go wrong. we all started tuning once. nobody was born with a laptop on knee saying "just hold it in, more foot down"
