Wait but is the surge noise is because the driver is releasing the throttle? if not, what is causing it? I saw the power delivery going down too- Looking for a S2

No! definitively not.
It happens when the Turbo provides more air then the engine is able to consume!!!
The airflow stalls und flows back to compressor.
In this case you have to reduce boost until a rpm ist reached, the engine is able to consume.
This happens for example, if you combine a small turbine with a big compressor --> "Hybrid"Comment

Dude ??!!! you cant be serious. What kind of turbo knowledge do you have??? You base your opinion on an experience of somebody else who buys a cover from 034-motorsport. A cover that is modded into some sort of ported shroud, what originally was not intended to be a anti surge cover?!....
Like Quattro84 says. But then translated into google language:
a true anti surge coves wich was designed for it shifts the surgeline to the left and actually makes the map wider. It makes your compressor even more efficient on certain regions in the map. So when you apply a true designed for anti surge cover it should not introduce more lag, because you are able to work more on the left side of the compressor map. This means you can build boost faster and in regions where with a normal cover you are operating in surge.
(excuse me for my explaining technique i`m just a technical person)
I really cant stand forums where a few people can make their own truth.... and the crappy thing is that other people see this crap as if it is the real thing just because they arent that technically educated or have the full knowledge on certain topics.
Don`t take this personally but this is just what i`m thinking about this topic because i don`t want people to get the wrong idea about this topic.
