I'd say talk to Mr Nugent, he'd know exactly what has been done with your ECU... haven't seen him around for a while either, hopefully all is OK with him across the puddle.

As far as boost goes, it shouldn't ever go below -1.0bar as that is a vacuum! Are you sure the guage is working correctly, do you have a spare to check with? Have you done a good uphill run in 4th/5th with 4k+ revs to ensure the engine is well and truly under load and see what it peaks at?

Yeah had the squeeling ever since fitting the RS2 bits althought it has significantly improved since newsh handy work
If i may ask, what did you do to improve things with the noise? I have no idea even where it's coming.

What boost are you seeing? I take it you have Paul N Stream chips?
I'm getting 1.3bar and yes i have pauls chips, paul wrote it should make something like 370hp and 470nm of power when i was ordering the chips.

But i would wanna wait to have a reply from the master first before i start to do more fault finding.

I had normal rs2 setup chips before and these are a lot better even now.

Have to check that vacuum under idle, haven't noticed anything before.

no 1.3bar will make an RS2 spec. engine go for 370hp. If OEM rs2 make 1.4bar taling off to 1bar at the redline and make 315hp, its easy to do the math.

If paul said that you whould be making 370hp and 470Nm of torgue then you should have more than 1.3bar.

just as a comparison, when i had my original stuff on the car (RS2) and boost going to 1.6bar overboost and then 1.2 to 1.1bar to the redline i was making about 340hp and 470Nm of torgue.

Actually i don't care if it aint 370hp, i just wanted something good and safe under 500nm.

I have also made a pressure test from the maf, but couldn't find any boost leaks. Mayby i'll take the hose off from the turbo and try from there with little more pressure.

My setup is not even near perfect and it could have leaks or some other issues.

The PCV valve has been changed. However the PCV system is leaking which the pressure test revealed can this cause the excessive vacume?

mine idles at -15psi and goes to -20psi when you shut off ,is this right, ialso seem to have a fair amount of oil in the boost pipe and pcv system
Theres plenty of boost up to 25psi when you floor it .

it could have a leak from there.Try cleaning and replacing all necessary parts.

@ Andy, that sounds a bit excessive as well.

Sorry mate a boost leak from where? Newsh said that the leaking PCV would not affect the boost but im thinking of getting a catch tank anyway. Just not sure why when everything seems to have been looked at im only getting the 1.3 bar

The PCV system is connected to the inlet manifold. When not on boost, fumes go into the inlet manifold to get burned. So im assuming that if a hole was found there, it could be sucking more air thus more vaccum, AND during boost, it could also loose some air, hence the boost being 1.3bar.

There is a check valve that connects the PCV and inlet manifold.

You could still have a leak somewhere else, it doesnt mean that the PCV is definitelly the problem.

Ok but if the PCV system is leaking which i know it is it would be advisable to start with changing that to try and cure the problem as the roose hoses seems to be doing there job, would u agree?

                            yes of course

try to fix/change one thing at a time.

also for the boost hoses, just make sure that all the clips are nicely tight. Sometimes one can get loose or be forgotten and it makes all the difference

Yep treble checked them. Also during a pressure test they seemed to be holding pressure well
