PKM - standard vs. increased ignition timing

Both graphs are running the same turbo pressure, however Basis graph is on standard flat ignition timing, resulting in 0.70 lambda. The Optimierte (Optimised) graph is with increased ignition timing, resulting in Lambda 0.80

Nice to see that with the both graphs on maximum BHP and the same turbo pressures the ignition timing has such a big influence on BHP output numbers. Increased ignition timing (resulting in 0.80 lambda) delivers better performance.

the butt dyno tells me this too. nice to see in graph form but in my scenario

      sorry key slippage

i had fuel and boost set great at 1.3 bar. i fitted the 044 and put more boost in. it felt no faster at 1.6 bar as the fuel was mega rich. went to 0.7 or so maybe richer and held back./misfires. as ive removed fuel the kick re-appears from the turbo. im now at 0.74 or so...still rich but it pulls well. i got some minor trimming of fuel to do to make it good.

So 0.8 is more optimal than 0.7, which makes sense as 0.8 = 11.76 AFR which is typical of what tuners targer 0.8 to 0.85

OK. I am at lambda 0.80 as Jyrki Repo set it with my tune.

Which is optimal power and safety

agree 0.8 is the target, maybe 0.82. but maybe splitting hairs at the level. also wideband accuracy too.

its about what the engine is happy with the most but the general rules keep us in the zone.

i must say i think 100hp between my over rich 0.7 and below to the current. torque differences are large too.

As far as i can see this, this only has to do with optimising ignition timing (hence the name zündung, ignition).
Orange line displays Lambda, which on both occasions is almost the same.

                  Hi,

yes, this is only a graph with std ignition and an optimized ignition curve. Lambda is the same and in that point no power influence.

                  Greetings

a title change is in order then...

see how easy it is to mislead? To think that i was critisised about that as well...

I corrected my text in the first posting. Thanks for clarifying that Zündung word I was not accurate enough when reading the German text. The lambda values in the dyno graph are different at the max BHP by the way. Look in the details!
