When I switch the car off - the pump and fan run (with the wires to the sensor on the water manifold shorted together)
I doubt the after run pump will run when the car is running!
Oh - just remembered - a few of us had blown after run pump fuses - no 21. I think I blew mine when I shorted one of the wires to the chassis but Lee had one blown as well - I have a feeling someone else did . Well worth everyone checking that fuse.S2,RS2,S4 WB,RS4,S4 B8,RS6 C5,RS6 C6,R8Comment

My pump only comes on when the engine is switched off, but the fan doesn't. It wouldn't come on when the engine is running as it would disturb the coolant flow.
My fuse was blown too because the switch had fallen apart.
I'll be doing some more tinkering at the weekend to see what the problem is.

You are just too lucky.
My fan isn't working at all !!!! Just got almoust overheated today :E~~~ , 5mins of opening the hood and venting the cooling liquid . Few more km's at it would badly damage the head !Vadim.
