do I need to keep the line that goes to the carbon cannister? I'm replacing my fuel lines and didnt know why there was three lines, I've read the third one goes to this carbon cannister, thats for vapours is'nt it? where does this line come from from the engine bay? I've read some old threads but non of them answer my question? could I blank it off orrrrrr??

Quite a simple one this, you can get shot of the carbon canister completely, helps de-clutter the engine bay nicely. The breather from the tank must stay open, so route it via an in-line filter too outside the car, ie under the rear bumper.
The line on the engine that links too the canister outlet needs to be blanked off.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

I have to guess that the car should fail MOT if you disconnect the Carbon Canister. Even if it doesn't you are helping to contribute to air pollution if you do disconnect it.Quite a simple one this, you can get shot of the carbon canister completely, helps de-clutter the engine bay nicely.
