Which Oil?

Hi
I run a ur-quattro RR 20V and the oil light has flashed at me for a second.
It has actually happened twice now, usually on overrun after accelerating hard in a low gear.

I am using Synta Gold 5W-40 oil, is this deemed a bit 'thin' for the 20V (with 82K miles on it), or could it be a sensor prob.?
Which oil do you guys think is the best?

It sounds more like you are running low on oil and it can't pick up the oil on hard acceleration so the oil pressure drops.

The favoured oil is 10W60 Castrol RS http://www.castrolclassicoils.co.uk/engine.htm or the Millers 10W60 stuff.

I have Mobil 1 15W50 in becasue I couldn't get hold of the RS stuff in time - I don't rate it as good as the RS and will change soon.

The oil level needs to be on the top mark of the dipstick so I don't get noisey tappets on a hard run - that seems very critical.

The oil level is spot on (well very slightly over since the car has been in a garage). I look over the car a few times a week to check all is well.
The light comes on with the ignition and goes out the moment the engine starts.
The light has come on under de-acceleration at low-ish revs, and only has done so twice since I have had the car.

I think I shall check the sensor and change to The Castrol if thats whats considered the best bet.
