    losing power

power has been dropping off on my urS4 for the past few days. Hard to notice as i have been driving on idle/ low revs for ages and the white stuff isn't very grippy for acceleration runs.

However some black tarmac today only getting 1.7bar on the digital read out and boost feels way down. I was gettign 2.0/2.1 a week or so ago which is also down. The car has the MTM map and should be hitting 2.4/2.5 bar on the digital gauge i believe. It feels like something is holding back the engine almost like the brake is on. Yet when popped into neutral she coasts fine with no feel of it being held back.

Another odd thing, changing gear foot on clutch and the revs blip up a few hundred RPM like I am double de-clutching.. only i am not? As if pressure is being let off in the intake system maybe, i dont know guessing.

A lot of snow/ice here wondering if anything has/ could have been knocked underneath.

what kind of digital gauge is showing this kind of boost? is it absolute or relative?

the build up of revs could mean worn disc i guess

i a quoting the digital gauge in the middle of the dash. Also have an analogue guage which also reads the same. personally i find it easier to look at the digital gauge.

You will have to enlighten me a bit more with the worn disc?

I guess Vas was referring to the possibility of a worn clutch(disc).

clutch may well be the culprate, feels like its on the way out and would tie up... it was hitting 2.3/2.4 on a snowy surface with less friction so that would be the clutch!!! At least i have a spare one.
