ECU does not respond to VAGCOM on my RS2

Got the latest original vagcom cable updatet, and can read all the different systems in my RS2 except the ECU. It can not be found.

Tried to disconnect all the K and L lines up in the fuse box, and connect one and one at a time testing for link. No response what so ever..

Then i thought it was the chip/tuning, but even with stock program it wont link up.

Any hints what to do next?

Try turning the conector plugs around. So the "D" shapes are the opposite way around.

Shouldnt that affect all the other "ecu`s" for Airbag, ABS etc etc as well?

Everything seems ok, except motor ECU. Cable reads 12v and lights the diode on the cable..

          Yup.. Latest USB-CAN

I started to think about the immobilizer system. So then i tried to link with the engine running as well, but no difference.

I had this happen once on my ABY S2, wouldnt find the ECU at all, ABS etc all OK... Disconnected the battery for 5 mins, re-connected then all was fine! Worth a try

Tried that as well.. Battery has been out of the car several times lately, because of my ICE installation..

This isnt supposed to be easy i guess

So the problem only occurred since you updated the Hex-USB+CAN interface firmware yes? Have you tried using it on another car?

Have you contacted Ross Tech support for help?

I`ve never had link to my ECU. Not with my own org. Vagcom, neither with borrowed cable, both org and copy cable.
Tried several cables when we had the emulator in it (when tuning the car) as well, but no link.

But yes, it works like a dream on other cars. I use the cable alot.

Only thing i can think of, is that i havent measured out the K/L-line from the ECU pinout and up to the OBD connectors.. I can give that a try when i get home from this work period i`m in.

I measured OHM on all the wires once, and as i recall i had 15kohm when all was connected. Therefor i tried one wire at a time, but still got no link...
                    Annoying problem.

If the interface is working as it should with other cars then perhaps the problem lies with your car. I would try and verify that you are able to manually initialise the ECU to generate blink codes. See this link for details on how to do this.

Checking the K/L lines would be a good idea too as you suggest.

Try that and see how you get on.
