Can anyone help or tell me how to fix this boost leak??
jst done a boost leak test the DV was knackerd so replaced that. there is another leak coming from the throttle body, its coming from behind the the spring mechanism for the throttle cable where the shaft for the butterfly thingy comes out of the TB. any one know how to fix?? its causing major problems with idel..ect. any help would be apriciated. This car, one problem after another
The TB hose itself is a fairly common failure. I have some spare hoses in Samco if interested. Other than that - check the security of all clips in that area and check the hoses to ISV and PCV systems as well... Just about impossible to see there so needs some dismantling to inspect hoses properly.
its not the hose from the turbo pipe to the TB. The air is coming out the side of the TB where the spring mechanism of the throttle connects to the shaft i'll try get a pic up. thanks
Oh right that is an odd one... presume there must be some sort of seal which has failed there. Not sure how airtight that can actually be, but you'd probably need to get alongside a couple of other cars to do a proper comparison.
i know its very strange, its not just a small leak either its Pi**ing out. i'll have to take the sprung mechanism off which will be a pain. jst out of intrest how much is a boosh hose kit for 3b engine?
