Hi guys I need some advice about the future of my Coupe Quattro, basically I’m moving abroad in 2 months time and need to decide whether to sell it as a whole or break it. There’s lots of plus’s on both sides. The current state it’s in is barely any interior fitted, dodgy electrical fault stopping it idling/running properly and no MOT (recently expired, not failed) The car is a red 1989 20v Coupe Quattro, the paint work is generally very good although faded on in a couple of areas. Full closure alarm with remote start and boot release.
Good points for breaking
Black S2 cloth interior with good firm bolsters, leather wheel etc
Complete Miltek Exhaust system which will fit 20v Quattro or S2 (I have front pipes to suit either)
17inch Audi Cabriolet alloys with good tyres
Tubular manifold
All gauges in working order
Plus all the usual parts you’ll find on a complete car
The engine has a new cambelt /water pump/thermostat/plugs/etc etc on it, and mechanically is spot on – top end very quiet etc, and it
Feels very strong when it decides to run properly. Rear diff mount is polybushed, rear subframe has been off the car to have this done and all other bushes are in good condition. Has the twin pot front brakes in good condition
So I think that pretty much covers it, I have enough time to either fix it up and re-mot it or break the car. Basically I’m trying to work out whether it’s financially sensible to put more time and effort into the car, or should I just break it up. Up until this point I had been intending to fit an S2/S4 turbo engine, so the battery has also been placed in the boot to allow more space up front.
Basically, is the car going to be worth more in parts, or sorted out and sold complete?
Appreciate the help
Andy
