    Satin Black Engine Paint ?

Struggling to find this for some reason. Frost carry an engine version of POR15 but it is gloss black. There is also a satin black product from VHT but only in spray format which is a bit pants as its harder to get a good even finish across nooks and crannies of engine block with a spray.

Anybody know of something suitable and robust for engine in satin black that can be brushed on ?

The glossy stuff from POR15 will have to do if a satin finish isn't readily available.

Rustoleum has worked well for me, but mostly in spray cans.

It sets like enamel ,looks like a factory finish on bike engines.

Any finish is only as good as the prep though and i find engines a real pain due to grease\oil

Tell me about it... have spent hours degunjing it - I have invested the time, just want the finished article to look right. Had a long look today online and the satin finishes only come in spray format - which takes longer with all the masking required. Maybe I'm being too fussy about the satin finish. I have all the ordinary POR15 materials here... just needs their engine enamel top coat for a glossy black finish.

I just spent some quality time on the frost catalog and discovered a very high temp coating from por15 that goes by the name of "black velvet" of all things. Apparently it provides a satin finish. Dunno how I missed it in earlier searches today but looks like that's the ticket for me.
