Best oil to use

Hi all, my Quattro coupe is in real need of an oil and filter change,but im unsure what type/grade/make to put in to keep engine best protected. I was hoping someone here can help,cheers in advance

1993 Quattro Coupe,56,000 mls, 2.8e V6 engine, not driven hard as living in jersey i cant do over 40mph but occasionally take it to france or UK for a good clear out

I don't think that you'd go far wrong with a decent 10W-40 semi-synthetic oil with a genuine Audi filter. Something like Mobil Super S, Millers XSS or Quantum Synta from VW.
