  • Water Temp

My water temp seems to sit about 1 notch under 90 degrees, so i guess its about 75-80 degrees, it goes a bit lower when cruising on the motorway. Can anyone say if this is normal or should i be looking to replace the thermostat?

That sounds fine, mine does the same thing, fan usually cuts in around or just over 90 on my car.

    nothing to worry about.

Shouldn't the water temp be at 90 degrees under normal running conditions otherwise the ecu is in warm up mode?

I noticed that the newer style 3 pin multisensor made by Behr (versus older 4pin VDO) seems to give slightly lower temperature readings. Or perhaps it's more affected by wind. Dunno.

Mine sits just under 90 most of the time, slightly lower when cruising on motorway at a sensible speed.

Fan cuts in just over 90 from memory (has been 7 months since i drove it tho)

Mine does the same as Ant's - always has done as long as I've had the car.

Sits just over 90 in traffic, so that's most of the itme....
Goes below 90 on the motorway.
This is after a thermostat replacement...
