    Homefries Dyno Plots

I had a power run done at PTS @ Luton yesterday now that I'm getting 1.4 Bar boost. Here's what I got:

    270.2 bhp @ 5311 rpm
    391.2 Nm / 288.4 lbft @ 3564 rpm

    Ambient temp 21 degC
    Barometric pressure 1004mb

Only other engine mod apart from the homefries is a Jetex panel filter & it's using Optimax.

How do these compare with other homefries ? I was expecting circa 280bhp/430Nm. Maybe it has a small boost leak ?

I think the torque curve looks healthy enough - nice & flat between 3 - 5k rpm. Not sure why the plot was ended once peak power was reached though ? And it was done in 5th gear. Is this normal ?

Their post code is LU1 1LP. They're just off the A505 between Luton & Dunstable. Cost is £47.

WTF did he stop the test at 5500rpm ?

It should also have been in 4th in my opinion - all other tests we done there were in 4th. I would certainly have expected torque much nearer a peak of 430Nm based on what I did there a year ago. Torque is kinda proportional to boost, so I'm wondering if he hit max boost as it almost looks too flat, but then the test wasn't run anywhere near redline which is weird.

Other thing about PTS - did they supply enough fans and such to the air intake and intercooler ?

I've seen variable results caused by heat soak if they don't get enough fans on the job.

I'm booked next week to go in for a run. Is there anything I should be particular about, being my first time and all?

I just phoned PTS & to be fair they've offered me another complementary run. The guy who did my run wasn't there but the guy I spoke to looked at the data & said the reason it cut off after about 5500rpm is because the power had already peaked. They used 5th gear because they assumed as it was 6-speed that 5th gear was the closest to 1:1 (whereas actually it's 4th @1.03).

@Ludbah, make sure all the levels are ok and tyre pressures are spot on. Dont want them hitting the redline with no oil in it!

Also make sure they drag both fans out! Last time we went we made them do that. I think there was even a third small fan brought out. For me and Greg
