    Tightening belts

    I need abit of advice.

One or two of the auxiliary belts are making a racket and I need to tighten them up. I sucessfully managed to tighten the Alternator belt which was relatively easy and not really a problem but I need to tighten the A/C belt and the PAS belt.

How do I go about this?

    No-one?

I suspect it'll be a bumper off jobbie but as I've never even done that before I don't want to struggle to take it off only to find that I'm still none the wiser when it comes to tightening the belts.

You dont need to remove the bumper to tighten the PAS belt.

There is a vertical bracket that is used for adjustment. Just loosen the two bolts at the top left side of the pas pump then slacken the bolt on the lower side of the pas pump where it meets the bracket. You may also need to slacken off the bolt that attaches the bracket to the block so it can swing in as you tighten the long bolt. (you still with me.. lol)
Next u can use the long bolt that goes vertical with the bracket the pull the pump up. Once its reached its desired position just re tighten everything.

I cant remember about the Aircon compressor sorry, its been to long since i took it off the car.

Air con, there are two nut and bolts in the pump bracket which push it away from the block, PITA to adjust

If you've got no undertray on yes you can but it's still a PITA adjusting it

              Thanks chaps.

I'll have a crack at both of them when I get abit of free time (and it gets warmer!).
