I am trying to help a fellow with a 92 UrS4 in Dubai who may have a dead ECU. His cowl drain got plugged with leaves and things and when it rained (IT RAINED IN DUBAI!!
), it the cowl area flooded and backed up water into the passenger compartment, flooding the ECU (at least getting it wet). (BTW: This is a fairly common cause of AAN ECU deaths. You need to keep that cowl drain clear).
He has removed the ECU and is has dried it out. Car still won't start and VAG is not getting a response. I am getting him to check the power to the ECU via pin 18/55 and the S64(S26 in Bentley) fuse. It could be the problem. In the mean time, I said that I would enquire as to the potential of finding a good used AAN ECU. I do not know if he has an immobilizer or not.
Any leads (or suggestions) would be appreciated.
