I am fitting a brand new rs2 turbo on to my 3b,I am fitting the manifolds and turbo to the head which is of the car, and wondered if you have to bleed the turbo in any way to ensure that the oil will serculate without any problems.

The turbo will not start to move until exhaust gas it passing through it it and by this time you will already have oil pressure at it .

When I had my RS2 turbo refurbed a few years ago I was told to install the turbo and water pipes, and the oil supply hose (goes on top of center section). Then crank the engine without starting it (I disconnected the Hall sensor) until oil comes out of the oil outlet of the center section. Just to be 100% sure that the turbo gets oiled. Then connect oil return hose to turbo.Leif-Helge

Im not to sure how long your car has been in pieces lou, but i always thought it was good practice to always disconnect the injector plugs, disconnect high tension lead from the coil and remove spark the plugs before an initial fire up and crank the engine untill you see the oil pressure needle start to rise, after that you know that the oil has circulated through.

I completely agree with post above - give it a good cold cranking with hall sensor disconnected and the fuel pump relay out until you see good oil pressure...Paul Nugent
