Just got back from work and half way home, the car suddenly decides to have no power when accelerating. If i dont put my foot right down its ok, but as soon as i floor it the car jerks and decelerates quickly. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry if this has been posted before.
Also not sure if its connected but the fuse for the wipers/indicators blew on the way home, thats been changed and is ok.

Do a search on "overboost protection" dude, the ABY curse!

No boost guage, no mods. Just searched for overboost protection and there are a lot of things to try.
Ok, this problem has now been fixed. Well i say that, what had actually happened was the fuse to wipers/indicators and cooling fan had blown. I sat in traffic until i came to a petrol station that had some fuses, changed the offending fuse and carried on. The engine must have got a bit too hot and the overboost protection must have cut in.
The S2 is now back to its silky smooth best. Thanks for the help...

could this be why the temp on mine today sitting in hot traffic got to over 90, and i floored it off, and there was no power and a back fire once it got too top revs, any one else had problems wich they're rev guage, mine seems tempramental?
The problem has not gone away, it seems that as soon as i floor the throttle the overboost protection kicks in, i guess this means a boost leak!!??? it all just seems to coincidental that it started happening when the fuse blew!?

You may find you've developed a leak after it got too hot. Your going to need to check all the hoses to for a boost leak.
On mine it would be fine from cold until you had driven 20 miles or so and then overboost protection would kick in. It got progressively worse until you couldn't floor it at all without the protection routine cutting the fuel.
It was only cured after fitting the samcos and replacing all the small bore vacuum pipe (for the second time).

Aye - sounds like a reasonably sized leak alright... The next ABY samco hose purchase closes this week - so you might want to get a set as a fix and insurance against this in the future.
