I've broke it !, Need some help

Hi All, A bit of help needed

Just fitted Wagner Manifold and for some reason car now running like a bag of c**p
Nothing to do with manifold which is a top piece of kit, Car now reluctant to start, fouls the plugs easily, very flat with little power, don't know what the hell i've done

Whilst at it changed all water temp sensors, MAF, Lambda etc as they are a PITA to change later

Temp sensor now shows 110 Deg on normal driving whereas it used to be just under the 90, Anyone know which temp sensor this is taken from and what the resistance should be at various temperatures

    Cheers Paul

Temp gauge takes it's reading from the MFTS - Multi Function Temp Sensor, the big one on the water rail.
Check you have plugged everything back in or have you tried re-fitting your old MAF?

    Loads of good info here:-

Might be Your grounding cables are loose or not connected to the block at all. Those two bunches of brown wires with ring crymps on. Used to be on original manifold, and now You have them on somewhere else. Maybe on painted valvecover?

Also check the vacuum hose to the fuel press regu.
Everything less than 2 bar is considered to be naturally aspirated

Carsten advises buyers to ground them on the dizzy blanking plug screws. Works fine on my setup.

          Progress

          Hi All

Not much progress today, Pissed it down all day and can't get in the garage for another project

ground wires all OK, Onto the Dizzy bolt and Cover bolt at the back, Will have to check the big ground cable next to the starter as I can't remember re-attaching it
probably have but worth checking anyway, Will need to get the vagcom working and check the codes, All hoses and connections look OK,

Thanks all for the replies all advice is welcomed, will update with progress

          Cheers Paul

            Update

            Hi Guys

An update, Faulty MAF sensor, put old sensor on and running a lot smoother,
Main dealer will be getting it back

Hi temp, Changed out large temp sender on water manifold and back to normal
temp readings, Checked out all the earths and resistances back to the battery -ve terminal, all OK, Again main dealer will be getting it back

Managed to get VAGCOM working and cleared all old fault codes, no new fault codes
            so everything OK there

Still a bit reluctant to start first thing in the morning

Lack of power was down to not trimming enough underbonnet trim off when fitting
reverse inlet and throttle hitting off trim giving me less than full throttle,, Did not help that the dump valve was on backwards as well, Double with an added Now thats done can't believe the difference in the throttle response, starting to think I would have been better buying a 3076 instead of the 3071 I have as i will soon be visiting a certain place in Banbury.

            Cheers all, PJ

              Glad your getting somwhere!

For a 2.2 engine 3071 is a better choice of turbo unless your going to run the 3076 with a .63 hotside

Absolutely nothing wrong with a 3071, Perhaps it to good low down and spools
up too quickly, mine has 0.63 hotside and that with the reverse manifold certainly
spools up real quick, When I plugged in vag com and looked at engine one of the
descriptions that came up was T & S Tuning, Does this mean anything to anyone?

Could be surging if the boost profile is too aggressive...

What WG spring is in play ?

                      What camshafts ?

Are you running with RS2 injectors (360ccpm) or something bigger (440ccpm) ?

                        Hi

It actually sounds like it is surging higher up the rev rev range, I have not checked the boost since putting the full wagner setup on along with 3" system turbo back,
I will need to check this, was running just under 2 BarG Boost falling off to 1.6 - 1.7

RS2 camshafts, RS2 Injectors, Limited headwork, Em to turbo opened up as well as its a K26 flange and there is room for improvement

Wastegate spring is the stronger one (1.9 Bar ?),

Car has been off road for near 6 months as I've been trying to do this and build a house at the same time so I can't actually remember how quick it felt before

                        Cheers Paul
