    034 motorsport timing belt kit

    Hi guys!

I was trying to save some time and hassle, and just thought on ordering one of these timing belt renewal kits from 034 motorsport, they should bring most of the stuff to do the job...

I ordered the one indicated for the ABY engine... Didn't even bother to open the box up untill now, when it was just time to change the belt... But there was a surprise at least for me and the mechanic...

    7A/3B kit

    AAN/ABY/ADU

Can you see where's the problem?

Or was it my fault when ordering the part?

    Thanks

The kit that is advertised as a ABY/AAN/ADU kit only has two belts, my ABY engine needs 4... At least I think so

The other belts are to the ac-condenser etc?

One thing i've learned we are way behind the Scandinavians!

At a guess you got a kit for an AAN engine which has one large accessory belt. ABY/ADU need two belts, or three if you have Aircon.

Yes, my S2 has got AC, so there are 4 belts, only got two of them... One is really large!

Yes spot on, since I'm new to this S2 world, I didn't knew... But they advertise it as a ABY/AAN/ADU kit and 3b/7a kit, as it is advertised on 034 site seems to be the correct one for my ABY engine...

Another thing, as we dismantled the timing belt, the one that was on the car, the "crank pulley" was broken thank god it didn't generate any damage!!!

Does anyone has an idea of how much this part costs?

Do you mean the harmonic damper or the belt sprocket that bolts to the harmonic damper? The later should always be replaced when doing a belt swap..

I don't know the correct translation for the part, its the lowest sprocket where the timing belt goes through...
I bought the car, and the previous owner had a full service history on Audi dealer but when I buy a second hand car, I always like to change the timing belt, I was delaying it, but thank god I got there on time!
