Madshad - one quick way to try a workaround on the cheap is to swap the cabling on the amplifier so that the dead channel is bypassed. Each amplifier has three channels - so the amplifier for 4&5 has a spare channel
It requires some *CAREFUL* jiggery of the two connectors on the amplifier but a mechanic with the right tools to tweak AMP connectors like this should find it no trouble.
Before doing this you might want to swap the amplifiers over, so that the problem should then move to cylinder #3 (IIRC). Please make sure your mechanic uses a heatsink compound on the back of the amps where they mount to the bulkhead. It can be got from Maplin and the likes for cheap.
i have an amplifier coming from all audi ,the mechanic has already swapped the leads so that it moved to another coil, i will tell him about the compound when i see him 2morrow, am there so often they gonna get me some steelies and overalls
