Boost pressure with MTM Remaped ECU

Just got round to fitting the boost gauage and the remapped ECU that the wife got me for xmas (I know it's taken too long but I haven't been well). The car seems a lot quicker but I am only seeing about 1 bar of pressure. I would have expected about 1.4 tbh, sounds like I may have a boost leak so I have just bought a boost leak test kit from andyp.

Does this sound likely to you guys? I never had the gauge fitted with the stock ecu but I did difficulty outrunning my mates vr6 golf ( and I mean he pulled away and I only caught him at the wrong side of 3 figures).

Cheers, thats what I recon'd. I think this is probably a leak somewhere as all the hoses are stock and I has a leaking injector a few months back, I have new seals here to fit but haven't got around to it yet. I may hook the stock ecu back up with the boost gauge fitted and see just what that reads out.

Very tempted to order a silicone boost hose kit for it (could sell the stock ecu to help funding:mischeif, I have the piece here for the mark h mod but guess what......I haven't got round to that yet either.

I was looking at replacing the vacum tubing on the car, has anyone replaced with silicone? What dia would these be..3 or 4mm?

You can pop round to mine sometime for a check and a chat if you like... And enjoy the state of red 80q engine in a thousand pieces if you like.

I appreciate the offer Paul. It's one I may well take you up on. Due to illness I've only been at work 3 and a half days of this year so I've got nothing done to the car at all (one good point is I've only used half a tank of petrol since 7th January).

I really think there must be an air leak, there's now and again a slight hunting (nothing like the 80q was doing mind you), if you rev it then lift off the idle takes a sec or 2 to settle. At WOT it seems to be holding 1 bar, even got 1.1 bar today (in 5th).

I may be interested in getting my name put on your samco GB list but I'll drop you a PM.

                Thanks again.
