Well itys sunny and warm, need to go do other things but I hadan hour I wasnt freezing my nuts off or getting soaked.

Crank signals are both present and correct
Hall signal is there and looks right. Need a dual trace scope to make sure they are timed right.

Fuel pump relay is cutting in after about one crank and holds it till I let go

Need to check injector activation but sure I can hear them.

Will re-check spark tonight whenits not bright sunlight.

Audi want to replace everything when I spoke to them at great cost. All sensors, coil packs, lambda sensor and another part.

      Still tinkering....

Its off on a low loader tomorrow to go to a VAG specialist. I just dont have the the time to go any further, plus I cant move freely around her on the drive. Hopefully it'll get cracked quickly enough.

            You are SO close...

1 - Crack open the fuel line at the regulator to check its trying to pump fuel while cranking.

2 - Use an LED tester to see if the injectors are being pulsed by the ECU.

3 - Is 12V supply getting to the coils ?

4 - Can you get a scope on the coil trigger signals ?

The problem I have is that its my business lifeline and its been out of play for too long. Have a hire car now for a few days but I just dont have the time else I would. I'll make sure Steve gives me a full fault report when it comes back and I will be a lil irritated if its something silly but at the endo of the weke the hire car goes back, my wifes parents cars wont be up for grabs and short of a miracle, the zook wont be on the road either.

The Garage are going to MOT it and look at some jobs I just cant seem to get round to as well so its not so bad. Going to get cambelt done at the same time too.

I have to just make a note of all the wiring in there for him to go no-where near now

I really do apreciate the help though guys and a large amount of S2 Central is now printed off and living in the 'audi' folder.

My experience is that these kind of things are often a bit stupid or some electrical connection overlooked. I just seen your PM about the other schematics which I will send you shortly.

Wouldn't be the 1st time that some 'specialists' have overlooked fuses in the past for example.

                    And it was stupid!

Took pump out basket to check before changing it. ran fine. Went back to terminals on the tank cover, nothing....

Brown wire failed about halfway down in the insulation!!!!!

Will keep tother pump as a spare but how annoying.

                    Turned key and it lives!
