    034 new log manifold

    Some of you may have noticed me and a few other members of this forum pestering 034 to make a log manifold for the 20vt engines that is affordable, has an external wastegate provision, and will support decent amounts of power...oh and it will have a T3 FLANGE Here was my original inquiry from...

    looks ok. very 16vt on a budget.

    thing to rememer is

    1. its the USA (no offence to the us)
    2. they didn't get real I5's other than aan.

    they are good with the 16v and this is essentially what we have.

    think is aimed at the sub 400hp bracket and expect it to be price consious.

    not sur eif you have seen this before

      Hopefully the insides are better than the last 034 manifold I saw, that was awful

        Who would want such thing?
        Everything less than 2 bar is considered to be naturally aspirated

          People on 'budget bygge' low budgets wanting a simple turbo setup? seems to be working for the American market if you look at some different forums.
          It seems like this will sell at a pre-order price of $250.. i can't even think about making a tubi one for this price.
          I hope they have enough clearance on the bolt holes or it will snap the studs from the head with this stiff design and thermal expansion.
          I've seen production models that have the same (most likely) poor flow capacities due to engine packaging.. but that's no issue here.. why not try to make an improved design using some more space?

              If you bothered to read the thread you would see this is for people on a budget who have actually requested this to be made by 034 and that it has been made so that they can use any inlet manifold including the 7A, so all that considered it is fit for purpose.

                like i say good for up to a level. especaillig if you started without one.

                id expect they are designed to fit something along the lines of a to4E 57 trim. ive not read the thread either.

                you can ridicule it jamo but it will work just not to our expectancy levels.

                  As I said speak to the expert who makes manifolds for a living on the long and short term effects

                    you asked for our opinion. we didn't ask if its any good. its not great but will work for low output on a budget.

                    i use wagner tubes as you know.i need say no more.

                      why not use an Stock S2 Manifold then? They are much cheaper, and they work up to 300HP.

                          About the manifold on the first pictures... I would NOT recommend it. The wastegate position it's good for a very bad boost control cuz it will vent the cyl 5 on it's major part only. In this case I'd better run a internal wastegate turbocharger and not too high boost setup or even try the chinese inox tubular manifold

                          I recently watched the new turbo kit for the 20v n/a /a (surely NM too), looks kinda interesting and cool...

                          1) Don't know the limit of the fuel system
                          2) Does it runs on a 2.5bar map? or non MAP?
                          3) they say 200wbhp (250Cbhp) on a 7psi (0.5bar) with a 9.5:1 comp ratio and non intercooled application ... hmm... sounds weird to me
                          4) USD 3,000 it's a bit expensive... well at least it's a bolt-on application

                          I was even thinking about buy again a CQ (S2's are too way expensive in this ****** country) with a NM and do a do-it-yourself turbo setup using bits of my AAN engine.
                          --> Reduce compression with a thicker headgasket to 9.5: just as 034 offers it's kit
                          --> K24-7000 and WG
                          --> Oil cooler
                          --> Custom exh manifold or the chinese one (I'm just too curious about that EM)
                          --> H2O-to-air IC and reduce the pipery lenght to a very short one
                          --> Stock BOV
                          --> Fuel pump depending how much boost you run, and bigger inj as a must
                          --> 2.5bar MAP and ECU remap
                          --> OH! and 3B distributor rotor tip ... very important

                          I THINK this could be a nice and not too expensive upgrade for the 20V non turbo if it's easy for you to find 3b/AAN/ABY bits and the country you are doesn't allow you to change the engine, and MAYBE reach the 280-290bhp barrier. I'm not sure...just thought about this after watching the 034 kit.

                          Cheers!

                            we tend to be a little more fussy in the EU about things ive found.

                            there are lots of "junk yard" motors in the states along with some proper motors.

                            my thoughs on the gate where similar. a spacer tube on the flange with the gate there would be my call..if any.

                            would i run one on the audi .no
                            would i use a similar design home made not cast for a sub 1k mess with old bits for a laugh. yes
