    RS2 Exhaust Cam

    Hey guys,
Im new to the forum, but I've got a few questions.

I have a 1993 //S4 and it's got the RS2 exhaust cam in it. I did a vacuum test on it and only got like 16-17hg at idle. So then I did a compression check and got 150psi in each cylinder. The car runs awesome! So I guess my question is, could the RS2 cam cause lower vacuum??

I don't know why you think 16 to 17 inches of mercury (Hg) vacuum is "low". That is a lot for an AAN at idle in my experience (more like 13 to 14 in Hg).

Really?! Wow, ok. I just had heard of a guy on Motorgeek getting like 23.5hg. I thought that was kinda rediculous, but it scared me when i only got 16-17, ha

I get something over 22 in Hg after the engine is warm and I have been running in the 3000 rpm range and then have to take my foot completely off the pedal. 14 to 15 on hot idle (around 10 in Hg on cold start).

Did you install the matching RS2 cam pulley? It is specific to the RS2 and bumps the timing by 10 degrees.

          Hope this helps.

Ya, that's sounds about right. I'm getting between 16-17 when it's fully warmed up. This makes me happy, ha. I was worried something was wrong

              Rallyquattro,
I honestly don't know whether it has the cam gear or not... I didn't do the swap myself, it was that way when I bought it. How can I tell if it's the RS2 cam pulley?

The gears are stamped with the same part number as the ABY/AAN version, but there should be a "B" stamped in the gear between the spokes on the stamped metal part on the RS2 version.
