Engine Number ID location?

OK guys
Apologies if it's I on here somewhere, but I have searched and can't find it. The 'other' blue S2 in Oz is having it's registration (MOT) check as I type and they need to physically see the engine number to ensure it is original. I thought it was located under the third cylinder on the Intake Manifold Side but apparently they can't find it. As it's about to compete in the historics racing at Phillip Island this week-end, early response is appreciated!!

ITS om the block by the 3# syl... under the IM .... but on the block, near the gasged.. there you have 2 grindet flat spots; tthen som rust, so you nedd to sandpaper some and may have wd40 on.... its stampes in like this
