    Revs, Revs oh no revs...

Hello all a couple of questions.......3B
Ive been driving hte car quite hard recently and been noticing that when under maximum acceleration the rev gauage rises to about 4000 then the car feels like it loses power (drops back to about 10-12psi boost) but continues to rev slightly and accelerate but needle stays still then can jump to anywhere. The power loss is not sudden it's as if you are approaching the red line and then the limmiter kicks in.

Thats the first one out the way.......
    2. Power steering, after hard cornering there is what sounds like a groaning/ whine when the steering wheel is turned and a slight vibration and resistance on the wheel. New pump??????

Also noticed a small amount of blue smoke (oil smoke ) i do seem to get through the oil a bit, i have no cats on the car. It's when your decelerating holding the gear then dump the clutch it spits it out, also when it starts to get hot in traffic.
Slightly worried that all this is going to end up costing quite a bit.....saying that the car is still driving fantastic most of the time but it's just annoying that this might all happen at once when i'm trying to destroy a boxster!!!!

Hope this will keep all your minds ticking over, i know that mine has been!

check your lamda and blink codes. Then reset the ECU and see if the same problem exists. If it does double check your blink codes.

Number 1 - sounds like an air leak or possibly lambda

        Number 2 - no idea

        Number 3 - turbo seals?

Or maybe the Valve stem oil seals as when you let off the gas the engine goes under vacume and could suck in oil past the seals. I have done my seals but still get a puff of smoke at start up, i thing its something to do with my PCV system. The catch tank mod is i the back of my mind.

Ticking after a thrash usually means not enough oil - it has to be up at the top mark or it could be too thin an oil. But the oil pumping out after sitting in traffic is the turbo oil seals - this will be exaggerated becasue the cats have been removed and there is a lot less back pressure - so the oil (even at 2bar pressure) starts pumping through the seals on idle. On gear changes you have a sudden drop in back pressure and the oil pressure is upat 4 Bar - so you get puffs of oil pumping through - BTDT - Speak to AET Turbos.

Yep BTDT too and AET Turbos were a great cure!

This is prob. the easiest thing to do on an S2. Indicator out, Fog light out this will reveal 2 bolts (one each side) Undo these and she's off. Just be careful with the clips on the wings. I think thats about it. If I've forgoten something I'm sure someone will add.

Oil behind the bumper??? What side? Left or right as you look at it? If its the right then its the common intercooler o ring broken. Check the forum for the o ring mod. kit.
