Bl**dy starter again...

Starter motor jammed again, and this time the trusty technique of ****ting it with a hammer won't work .

So task for tomorrow is to locate a new starter, anyone any idea if it is a specific S2 part, or common to other cars?

Looking at the part numbers for your 91 3B it lists the part number as being the same on all 5 cylinder engines, 034 911 023 X, for engines KV, NG, NM, 7A, 3B and ABY. Only the six cylinder lumps seem to have a different part number (AAH and ABC).
If this is correct, then there is one on eBay at the minute eBay link or alternatively there should be one in the millions of scrappies around Newcastle.
If I'm wrong then I'm sure one of the parts guru's will shoot me down

Think I'll try and visit a few scrappys tomorrow, then I'll get the fun task of putting it back on, was a right swine to get off!!

Any 5cyl audi starter should fit. So second hand ones should be really easy to find (A100, A90 etc). If you end up buying a new original one, note that X in P/N means it's an exhange part.
