just want your guys opinion on a holset hx50 h2e turbo, owner says it has a small 17 exhaust housing (not sure if that helps), guy is selling this just wanted to know what you guys think of this turbo as far as power and performance, approximate spool time? And possible comparsion to the hx40. Thanks

Compressor ranges from 62/98 to 71/108 capable of 0,75kg/s => airflow equals around 900HP max. Pressure ratio's up to 4 so high boost is possible.
Turbine something like 85/75mm. Hotside is one of (if not) the smallest hotsides available, the newer Pro versions have 16cm^2 housings. Bullseye power told me they are making new stainless hotsides for these models in the future.
Spool time? hard to tell. -
The HX50 is also physically larger then the HX40 which may or may not be a mounting issue. A 17cm housing is quite small for one of these units (they are diesel turbos). I think they came with 67mm and 72mm compressors... although Holset are notorious for mixing and matching different combo's under the same name. You'd have to measure the wheels to be sure. There's a Volvo 740 on youtube running an HX50 if you do a search... could do with 4WDjust want your guys opinion on a holset hx50 h2e turbo, owner says it has a small 17 exhaust housing (not sure if that helps), guy is selling this just wanted to know what you guys think of this turbo as far as power and performance, approximate spool time? I'd say from experience that a 60mm HX40 would be savage. If you want to go bigger there's the HX52 which has a weird turbine size / fitting and the same compressor as an HX50 or HX55. All these turbo's will run, it's just a matter of how drivable you need the result to be...Comment

You've misunderstood what I've posted, 900 bhp is unrealistic figure for use in a street / track car not that the turbo cant make that powerhx50 be a good drag turbo but street / track? 900 bhp? not realistic
