Hi chaps, just a quick one, can someone please go and measure their S4's (AAN) dipstick from where the top of the tube meets the dipstick and min / max levels. This engine has not got one and I want make sure that oil level is correct.
I have done a few sums and got to 505mm to max level, if someone would be kind enough to check.
I will have a measure tomorrow for you, I have a 3b with a aan bottom end, had to use the 3b dipstick and tube as the aan one had a shorter lenght sticking out of the tube. I had problems as the tube has a slightly different O.D
Sorry for the delay mate I got a little laywaid with my own car problems.
Imeasured my s6 dipstick and it is more like 500mm, thats from the stop end of the plastic end to the middle of the chequered level end. I have the s4/s6 dipstick that came with my new block some where if iots of any use to you
Does anyone have the dimensions for the section of the dipstick which protrudes into the sump? From the bottom of the block to the tip of the dipstick? I've looked at my 3B block setup and it looks to be 110mm, however I removed the dipstick tube and can't be sure it's gone back into the block at the same depth. I'm assuming this will be the same for all engines, as the sumps are all the same. I need to make up a hybrid dipstick tube for my new setup and want to check I have the correct dimension from the bottom of the block. I guess people have looked into this when adding girdles to the bottom end.
