Fair enough, I'll try unplugging that tomorrow, but does seem like the air flow meter is the likely cause. Bit baffled by it being alright for a while with it unplugged, then doing the constant 1.0 on the guage and no boost?

I'm in Salfords, Surrey. If anyone fancies giving us a hand it would be much appreciated, can do a very cheap stainless exhaust in exchange, or a beer/smoke...

MFTS might actually fit as a fault there will see the ECU not adapting to a warm engine and possibly overfuelling. The ECU should indicate a fault for this though. Following that line of thought though if its stuck reading a cold engine it may not do, I cant see in my head how the ecu would know the engine ISNT actually cold.

Take it out, get the pin outs from s2central and with a multimeter, glass of ice and mug of hot wather you should be able to test it. Will make a mess when you remove it btw

The MTFS can limit boost if it thinks the engine is too hot which often becomes faulty and it sends the signal for too hot even if its not if you unplug it, it takes that facility away.

Cold running is dealt with by the grey sensor on the back of the head that is what feeds the temps to the ECU
