Anyone used PAR Rods? Considering my options at the moment, CArillo and Arrow are just too expensive.
No convinced on the quality of SCATs, Pauter and PAR seem roughly the same price, what about SPM or Eagle? I know there was a GB on SPM rods a while back?

I'm not 100% sure but as aron has said if one of us manage to break one he'd be surprised, he's tested them past what most people would ever need afaik.
What about SPM - any feedback from the GB a while back?
I know of one car running 650+bhp on SPM rods and one running RS2 380bhp spec, both been in since the GB and no problems. I've got them in my stroker too, so hopefully no problems.
How much are the Par rods?

lie mentioned in other posts i think the rods are the same. its about the quality control done after manufacture by the coompanies selling them.
i was told if you want the best quality then go pauter. they are better than scat. thats what i was told.
I was told scat are very good for the money. done yank v8 for years. they need checking on arrival to ensure they are good. then machine shop for final weight match. thats to be sure. ive had 2 sets of scat. 1 for 16vt and the other for the I5.
I'm running PEC rods in mine which again are from the same factory as SCAT and various other generic H-Beams like Wossner etc... I've found that they are better in balance than most Hbeams hence my use of them on a budget, which is more down to end retail quality control.
I've had ones from Eurospecsport and found them horribly out of balance the same with Carillo rods, as much as 5-6gramms in some cases. Both being H-Beams makes them incredibly difficult to rectify balance imperfections as there is just no material to take away anywhere without weakening them.
As for Pauters I've seen an engine throw a spark plug out the side of it due to a mapping misshap with nitrous (someone forgot to switch the secondary fuel pump on ) melting a hole though the timing belt tensioner, oval the bore by 5thou and rods measured up perfectly fine with no issues and are still being used 5yrs later running 11sec quarters in a 1.8t.
A mate of mine in the US managed to split his block in half on a 16vT going for 4 figures and again the Pauters where about the only thing not damaged.
If doing a balls out build I would always opt for Pauters just from personal experience. However it doesn't mean that loads of other stuff out there isn't upto the job.
Currently got my eyes on some Titanium alloy ones for my next project
