    i use a sc6152e.

i think precision make great stuff. i will be going bigger than a 3071 though.
    if you do

    1. go v band
    2. go BB
    3. id expect shop around as you may get it cheaper.

journals are the older style ones GT turbos use roller.

i know a bit about these things. the guy who i get mine from knows lots. he has already pointed me towards a vband precision. says it spools faster and akes more across the entire range than the previous.

he ssid its down to bearings and vband mostly. the billet wheels help a little mainly at higher boost.

either way i dont thing you will be dissapointed.

for reference my sc6152e is a fair bit bigger. boosts from 3500 full boost bout 4500. all the way to whenever.

many hondas running sub 10's used to use the sc61. you may find more info on the turbo on honda and mitsu forums. this information is still of great value as moften they will compare to a garret.

Is the center section (CHRA) not a garrett piece on these turbo's ?
Garett and Tial have V band options available aswell, so why would the billet wheels not be making such a difference ?

billet wheels make a big difference, the v-band is just for quick release of the downpipe

Billett wheels and Ball bearing is the way to go spool and wide HP range wise looking at diffrent dynographs.

Tial also have some ss exhaust housings with v-band -> collector, if thats what is meant earlier by 'go v-band' as its perform better?
Although I dont see why v-band instead of 4 bolt on the DP would make that much diffrence compared to the v-band on the collector/ex houing.

If you are going for the audi s1 "do do dooo" sound, then go for a 360 bearing and not Ballbearing as the ballbearings dont handle the load from the compressor stall going off WOT. And plumb up your pressure system so no air escape in a bov or similar valves for the "do do doo" sound.

No more info around the PT 5557 though, but the PT 6262 gets alot of good audi five pot feed back, but that is a bit bigger.

that sounds a bit odd.. why does it take so long to go from 1 to 2?

tell us what the other gears are like

I have 1 bar at 3000rpm at the higher gears. I mean that the turbo is very fast when you reach 2 bar (which was the highest boost at the moment) at 6000rpm at the first gear. Earlier turbos I have tested were very slow and I didnt reach the same boost at the first gear as the higher.

The car is not fully mapped yet. A few days ago I was out mapping but had some problems with missfire. I have fixed new spark plugs with smalled gap. So I hope it will solve it. Im maybee going to try it today.. I will write here when the car is ready.
