    Which valve guides

evening all I'm after your thoughts on valve guides. There has been lots of you carting out high horse power engine builds latetly have any of you put any special valve guides in or will any one do the job. I have seen some that rostern performance sell that say they are better than standard guides . Is it as simple as the better quolity you get the longer they are likely to last.
never set your expectations to high that way you are never disapointed

I ones i bought were after market, Febi i think. Only difference is they have a larger seating ring inside the head so you have to enlarge the hole in the washers to fit around them. Mine were also machined to smooth out the end where they stick into the inlet port. A common trick, probably all that is different with the "performance" versions.

The ones i used also needed the hole enlarging on each of the 20 shims. They came with a round ring where as what was fitted before was square.

        Easy enough to do though.

Rather than replace a few worn guides on one of my S2 heads, I got the local machine shop to fit these http://www.cylinderheadshop.co.uk/K-line.html
The spiral groove is supposed to help lubrication. Could just be marketing bull**** though
I can't recall what it cost, but I haven't had any issues with them.
