    ADU Pinking !

As the title suggests, the old 2 has taken to pinking and also dipping in power when on boost (about 4500rpm). Now we do suffer from crap fuel down here (the cornish not into buying much V power due to price so it stays in the tanks for a while) but even if I add a booster it still does a bit.
We've checked for boost leaks and its leak free (very in fact) so over to your knowledge chaps and chapesses, whats causing it ?
    Cheers

All stock except the wagner manafold (evo) and the itg air filter, running on the RR at 311 bhp and 448nm torque, so about right ?

Sorry ITG in original box (done for maintenance costs more than anything else).

yes then, either a faulty knock(should bring you to safe mode though), broken N75 valve possibly drawing more air, or overboosting, or just bad fuel that the knock sensors cannot correct with ignition timing retardation.

Brilliant, thanks for that. The old moneypit has been trying its best to empty my bank account recently and well, frankly, I'm getting a bit peeved so if I can narrow the search down a bit it will help. When its not pinking it still goes very well (I've owned it long enough now that it doesn't feel fast anymore but people say it still is) and it can be quite econmical if I drive like a "sensible" person.

mine use to pinge on the onset of boost.Thats the usual problem. But if for some reason boost is going higher than normal, it could mean that there isnt enough fuel to compensate. Do you have a boost gauge?

Sadly no, which would you recommend I prefer the pod mounted ones but it has to look OEM (I like my vents).

the only one 100% matching is this one:

you can contact him directly and he sells a kit, but not the alloy holder for the vents. You will need to source something out from ebay.Alternativelly you could get him to make you a single vent holder(he uses laser cutter) so that you can mount the gauge. He is not the cheapest, but his work is very good.

Thats ok I would like some sort of pod mount (I can fit it without damaging the car) a bit like this http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Perfor...g_Pod/814/1864.
Have you got a picture of his guage ?
