    ACL bearings

been recomended these for my big ends. They seem to be associated with the jap market more.

Anyone had any experiences with them.

I would go with Kolbenschmidt myself - select the RS2 items as they are 'sputter' type... Available from good suppliers. These are OEM quality parts made in Germany.

I used a set of upper RS2 shells for the top and bottom, Yellow/Violet versions from memory.

            been reading up...im getting there.
Sputter bearings = electro plated, usually only lower shells.
Dont think these ACLs are sputter.
Can they do more harm than good though. If youve got harder bearings the crank would wear faster? So say if ud done 40k miles and spun a bearing.
Your more likely to need a regrind?

What kind of specs, power, rpm, daily driven?

I have glyco mains. The machinist was meant to get glycos to match but thinks ACLs will do the job better being in the business of high rpm jap motors. Perhaps ill just go for it. See how things go.

I use ACL diesel bearings in the Vauxhall redtops as they are a nice sputter upgrade. Kolbeschmidt do the sputter ones for the I5.

All sorts mate, from mild to wild I don't use anything else, high revving XE's to 500+hp LET engines.

Not had a problem with quality and simply stick to using what has proven to be reliable.

My own engine ran Glycos and was a daily driver never giving me any issues, mainly a nitrous engine as well so took its fair share of abuse.
